DVB-T Still clueless

I am still waiting for a some help on automatically transcoding my 
(budget card) DVB-T recordings to MPEG-4 to save space. In summary:

1. Which recording profiles do I edit to change settings and make it do 
this?
2. Does it use DivX to create the files?
3. Does anyone know if the DVB-T signal/stream/recording is interlaced 
or not?
