That's like asking if the sun shines in Belgium and to what extend.
Yes, the Sun shines in Belgium, but not always: not at night,
not when it's cloudy. You will have to be more specific.
Why do you need Unicode support.
Do you have a database field that has UNICODE Strings
that need to be rendered to PDF. If so, do you have a
font that has the glyphs corresponding with the Unicode
characters.
Do you need to fill in AcroFields with Unicode Strings?
Do you want JavaScript in Unicode.
It is impossible for us to write you a complete guide
of which Unicode related features are or are not present
in iText 1.3.1.
You will have to say WHAT specific features you want
to use, and even then: iText 1.3.1 is one year and a
half old. If you NEED 1.3.1, it would be better if you
test this version yourself. We have no interest in
examining an iText version that is that old.
