I try never to have 'loose' parts of HTML in the HTML pages
I am writing currently. I always put them between div- or p-tags.
I think it's the only elegant way to solve this odd problem
without digging into the code.
I think that when iText encounters some text that is not inside
tags, a Chunk is created. If a b/strong/i/em tag is encountered,
it depends on the 'current chunk' what object is created.
If it is null, you get the undesired newline. If not, all goes well.
Just like I said yesterday: if I find the time, I can have a look
at it, but for the moment I have other priorities.

Bruno
