I have been following an UML course all day.
There was no internet connection in the classroom
(it was very 20th century), so I wasn't able to read
any mail today, nor will I be tomorrow (it's a two-day
course).
If you look at the market, you see a lot of IDEs,
but two of them are most used: NetBeans and Eclipse.
Geertjan Wielinga is writing very interesting code for NetBeans:
http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/geertjan?entry=preview_functionality_for_itext_integration
So I thought I'd do the same for Eclipse.
I have been given a dedicated server by my employer
(Ghent University): http://itext.ugent.be/
For the moment, you won't find a lot of information on
this server because I lack the time to add content, but
soon you will see a lot of interesting stuff appearing on
those pages. For instance: http://itext.ugent.be/eclipse/
For more info, read: http://itext.ugent.be/eclipse/articles/article1.html
and the articles that follow (there's no article 4 yet).
Maybe Mark can write something similar for IntelliJ ;-)

Bruno
